Clair Obscur Triumphs at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards took place recently, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the biggest winner. This breakout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the esteemed Top Game award, along with prizes for Superb Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Complementing the developer's success, the skilled actors also were honored with personal awards. Jennifer English was named Top Lead Actor for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Supporting Performance Award for his work as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Best Development Team. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team achieved 7 awards during the show.
Additional standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Top Sound Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Outstanding Independent Game and Premier PC Title. It is important to note, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the public, with only four categories—Critics Choice, Breakthrough Award, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamer Selection—judged by experts.
